This page is for wood lovers only. All these photographs are from highly figured logs we have cut this past year.
Most are of green, rough cut lumber as it came off the mill or as we were putting it on sticks to dry.
There is nothing to compare with the feeling and excitement of opening up a highly figured log and seeing what is inside.
We get to do this every year and I want to share some of these intense moments and very special figured lumber with all
my loyal customers and all of you out there who are simply turned on by great wood. We chose to call it WOOD PORN which
it certainly is to those of us that get the fever when looking at fantastic wood. Enjoy.
Curly English Walnut Root Flitches
This huge root was from the amazing curly English Walnut tree that
the huge flitch above came from. The root was 18' in diameter. We
cleaned it up a little at a time over 5 years to get it ready to cut.
It was full of stones and dirt that the root grew around. We cut it
into 12/4 flitches. The wood is all highly figured with beautiful
color.
