IRISH OAK BURR (BURL)
This amazing brown Irish Oak Burr #1767 & 1768 came from the Shanes Castle in Antrim, Northern Ireland and is FSC certified. The castle stands on the northwest corner of the Lough Neagh. It was so big it had to be cut in half to move it and get it into a container to be shipped to our yard. It yielded small and large flitches and everything in between. It has beautiful burl figure with good color and was all cut to 10/4 thickness. It is on sticks drying now. This huge oak burr has plenty of history. If it could only tell the stories.

We are bringing in very large, old growth, German Oak veneer logs that are from 300 to 400 years old. These logs are from the "Spessart area, one of the best White oak forests in the world. These are managed forests and a limited number of trees are cut every year and offered for sale. We rift & quartered them into lumber. The color is light straw to light tan and clear. Some of these huge logs are up to 40 feet long with no defects and very tight grain. We cut some 12" to 16" wide, rift lumber from some of them. Very rare dimensions for sure.
