RIFT & QUARTERED SWAMP WHITE OAK FLITCHES I cut this log 20 years ago. It was buried in the back of one of my lumber sheds and forgot I had it. We dug it out recently and it brought back lots of memories. I didn't remember it being so nice. They will make very interesting one of a kind table tops and other creative projects. The color is rich with nice grain. There are a few worm holes in some and a few have voids in the crotch but they are beautiful. This log was rift and quartered into 6/4 bookmatched sets. Check out the door made from one of these logs. These are some of the last flitches from this amazing tree. They are museum quality. You may not ever find any figured walnut lumber better than these. Two of these huge flitches end matched would make a conference table that would be truly amazing and fit for a king. They do not need to be use as one piece. You could cut one or more up in sections, resaw it, bookmatch it and do a whole room full of cabinets and a piece of furniture or two from it. You're only limited by your imagination.
